After submitting your application and supporting documents, a Cumming Utilities staff member will be in contact to collect a $125.00 deposit using a credit card.

Residential Service Setup Process

Follow these steps to establish Residential water & sewer service.

1. Fill out the online application form. You will need:

  • Water Cut-On Date
  • Service Address
  • Mailing Address
  • Driver’s Licence or Photo ID (for upload)
  • Proof of Ownership/Lease Agreement (for upload)

2. Once your application along with the required documents has been submitted, a team member will process your request for service.

3. A Cumming Utilities team member will then contact you via phone using the phone number you submitted on your application. The $125.00 deposit will be requested and can only be paid by credit card if paid over the phone.

4. After completion of your application, a Cumming Utilities team member will send a confirmaton email with your Cumming Utilities account number, confirming that your application is complete.

Make sure everything inside your residence is shut off before requesting that the City turn the water meter on to the unit.

  • Water Cut-on/Transfer Date
  • Business Informaiton
  • Service Address
  • Mailing Address
  • Driver’s Licence or Photo ID (for upload)
  • Proof of Ownership/Lease Agreement

2. Your Application and Documents will be processed by Cumming Utilites

3. Cumming Utilities will contact you via phone for a $125 Deposit. Deposit is paid by Credit Card over the phone. You will be contacted on the number submitted on your application.

4. NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Make sure everything inside your business is shut off before requesting that the City turn the water meter on to the unit.

Additional Commercial Service Requirements

Backflow Device – All Businesses
Backflow devices on the premises must be maintained and tested once a year. The test results should be reported to the Cross Connection Control Branch by fax at (770)-781-2016.

Grease Traps – Food Service Establishements
All food service establishments shall install and maintain a properly sized grease interceptor. Interceptors shall be sized according to the number of customers served but be a minimum of 1000-gallons, exterior, in-ground, and composed of concrete.

The restaurant owner must ensure that interceptors are pumped out completely every 90 days and that a completed manifest has been faxed to the Water Pollution Control Division, Pretreatment Branch at (770) 781-2016. Please call the Pretreatment Coordinator at (770) 781-2018 for more information.
