As of November 19, 2025, the Eagle Creek Water Main Replacement contract has been awarded to Strickland and Son’s Pipeline. This project will begin near January 1, 2026 and will last approximately 1 year.

The Eagle Creek Water Main project will enable the city to provide adequate fire protection and fire hydrants to the Eagle Creek neighborhood. The City is proud to be able to improve the Eagle Creek neighborhood’s water system, pipes, pressure, and fire flow. This project will reduce the number of future repairs because the new lines will be made of Ductile Iron Pipe. We apologize for the inconvenience related to the construction process and will do our best to keep both traffic and water flowing properly.

Dear Eagle Creek Community Homeowners:

The City of Cumming has been planning to replace the water lines and add fire hydrants within the Eagle Creek Subdivision for the past couple of years, due to the infrastructure’s age. We have received funding through a Georgia State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan to replace these lines in the amount of $2,976,006.00. We are pleased to be able to make this major investment in your community and water system.

Please be advised that our contractor, Strickland & Sons Pipeline Inc., will begin this project on February 2, 2026 with an expected completion date of September 30, 2026. Construction will at times be challenging as we navigate around other existing utilities that currently lie within the narrow right-of-way of each street, and, in some locations the new water main will be installed within the roadway. You may experience some damage to you landscaping which will be repaired by the City as we move along the project. We currently plan to bore under all driveways to prevent damage to the concrete or asphalt. Some trees near the road and inside of the right-of-way will need to be removed to make way for the new pipeline, water meters, valves, and fire hydrants.
